Abstract

The primary objective of this research is to analyze how Black Swan (2010) constructs a narrative where obsession takes center stage. Through the examination of the film's characters, particularly the protagonist, a ballet dancer, and the dynamics between her and the other key figures in the story, this study aims to explore how obsession is developed and portrayed. This memoire delves into various themes present in the film, including gender roles, psychology, power dynamics, relationships, and aging. By conducting a thorough analysis of Black Swan alongside other relevant films, the research also explores the cinematic techniques and tools employed to intensify these themes, shedding light on the destructive nature of obsession and its impact on identity and artistic ambition.
